Driveways and Culverts

Driveway washing out or holding mud?

New gravel driveways, regrades, parking pads and culvert pipe with rip rap ends.

New gravel driveway through hardwoods with culvert pipe and rip-rap headwall at entrance

How it works

New driveways cut in from the road, worn out ones regraded and topped, parking pads for shops and campers.

If water crosses the drive it needs a culvert, and the ends need rock so they do not wash out again. We set the pipe and we rip rap both ends.

Crusher run for the base and driving surface, #57 where it needs to drain. We spread and roll it in with the track loader, not just dump it and leave.

What we need to know to quote it

Have these ready when you call and we can usually give you a number on the spot.

  • New driveway, or fixing one you already have?
  • About how long is it, and how wide do you want it?
  • Does it cross a ditch or a wet spot? That usually means a culvert.
  • Is the base still good, or has it rutted down into the clay?

What people say about our driveways work

We used Smith mine on a project where we needed to remove an existing concrete driveway, re grade the existing slab, add a new drainage pipe and then pour the driveway back. This was a massive project but smith mine made quick and efficient work of it. Very responsive and did everything they said they would in a timely manner. Great customer service and will definitely be using them for all our future projects!
